There has been an awakening…have you felt it?
Force Friday is a special day in the Star Wars calendar. It is a sacred day where retailers of all shapes and sizes unveil their stunning new line of merchandise from the latest instalment in the Star Wars movie franchise. Every year to date has been exciting, but this year something special has arrived.
To celebrate the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi this coming December, award winning shoe manufacturer Po-Zu have teamed up with Lucasfilm Ltd to create an exciting new product line designed to transport us to the galaxy far, far away. Under the guidance of their imaginative CEO Sven Segal, Po-Zu have grown from a small London based operation into a globally recognised pioneer in ethical and organic shoe manufacturing. They have crafted footwear from all manner of biodegradable materials from coconut husks to pineapple leaves and have even created a shoe cream so pure and organic…you can EAT IT!
With the Star Wars franchise being at the very forefront of pioneering technology, it seems only natural that Star Wars would collaborate with a cutting edge and morally decent establishment like Po-Zu. Taking inspiration from some of the greatest characters in the Star Wars universe, they have crafted some incredible new designs for both men and women ranging from the humble Stormtrooper to the mighty Wookiee Chewbacca and even our newly established saga heroin, Rey.
Many of these imaginative and ethically manufactured masterpieces were unveiled in 2015 to commemorate the release of The Force Awakens, but with The Last Jedi on the horizon the incredible team at Po-Zu have fashioned something quite incredible…and these galactic must have items were unveiled to the press at a special launch event for Force Friday. I was extremely fortunate to be invited to their incredible event and had the privilege of spending a few hours within the treasure trove that is their stunning showroom. There, I had the pleasure of meeting with both Sven and Marketing Manager Kate Osbourne, who took me on a guided tour of their out of this world footwear.
Chewbacca:
Vegan Wookiee boots; perfect for complementing your Chewbacca outfit.
Manufacturing: Boots in faux fur, a built-in shock-absorbing coconut fibre Foot-Mattress, and a highly flexible natural rubber sole.
The Millennium Falcon:
High-top vegan lace-up Sneaker with the Millennium Falcon blueprint/technical print.
Manufacturing: Organic cotton sneaker featuring quilted rear hexagonal panel, cushioned tongue, removable memory-foam Foot-Mattress in latex and cork, and a high-performance grip natural rubber cup sole.
Stormtrooper:
Inspired by the First Order stormtrooper boots, as featured in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Manufacturing: Chrome-free leather boot featuring an embossed Betaplast helmet detail, a concealed inside zip, a removable memory-foam Foot-Mattress in latex and cork, and a high-performance grip natural rubber cup sole.
BB-8:
High-top vegan lace-up Sneaker with a rubberised BB-8 droid badge.

Poe Dameron:
Inspired by Poe Dameron’s commander boots, as featured in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Manufacturing: Featuring an adjustable Velcro fastening calf, an inside zip, a removable memory-foam Foot-Mattress in latex and cork, and a high-performance grip natural rubber cup sole.
Rey — The Force Awakens:
Inspired by Rey’s iconic mid-calf boot, as featured in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Manufacturing: Vegetarian boot: artisan tweed with adjustable calf/rear lace-up system and cork details. A built-in shock absorbing coconut fibre Foot-Mattress combines with a highly flexible natural rubber sole. ‘Star Wars / Po-Zu’ cobrand heat embossed on heel.
